PTGui does the World Cup

Jun 18, 2010

New York producer Humble TV was tasked with designing a series of 60 second 'team trailers' for ESPN's coverage of the 2010 football World Cup. Built around a green screen performance by Djimon Honsou, creative director Sam Stephens of Humble TV envisioned an epic style based on panoramic photography manipulated into planetary proportions. Using a 'Little Planet' photo-projection technique, each country took its place in a solar system of champion hopefuls.

Dutch photographer Fred Kamphues was assigned for the ultra high resolution panoramic photography in 13 European cities. 15384 photos, 286 ultra high resolution panoramas, 263 GB of data (and a maximum of 4 hours sleep per day). All stitching was done with PTGui.
